Who it's for
Is medical weight loss right for you?
This program is for people whose weight has stopped responding to diet and exercise alone. Candidacy is a medical decision, not an aesthetic one: it starts with a thorough intake, a detailed history and a lifestyle review. If a medical program isn't right for you (or isn't right yet), we'll say so and talk through what makes sense instead.
- The diet-and-exercise loop keeps ending in the same place
- Weight that affects your energy, your joints or how you feel day to day
- You want real medical oversight, not a mail-order subscription
- You’re ready for gradual change that holds, not a crash
How the program works
Assess. A thorough intake: detailed history, current medications, and a lifestyle review (diet, exercise and your goal).
Plan. If a program fits, we build yours: medication when indicated (GLP-1 class or other options), nutrition guidance, and a realistic pace.
Follow. Regular check-ins track progress, adjust dosing, manage side effects and keep the plan medical, not automatic.
What to know
Safety, side effects & medical oversight
Weight loss medications are real medications: the most common side effects are digestive (nausea, constipation, reflux) and are usually managed by pacing the dose, which is exactly what supervised check-ins are for. Some histories rule certain medications out entirely, which is why the intake comes before any prescription. Rapid, unsupervised loss carries its own risks (muscle loss among them). The gradual pace is deliberate.
What "physician-supervised" means here
Wellspring is a physician-owned medical practice: your intake is reviewed medically, prescriptions follow a clinical review of your history (not a questionnaire), and dosing changes happen with a clinician who has examined you. When something feels off between visits, you text us and reach the team that treats you.
That’s the working difference between a medical program and the online subscription model: the medication may look similar, but the assessment, monitoring and accountability around it are the parts that make it safe and make it last.
About GLP-1 medications
GLP-1 receptor agonists (the medication class behind most of the recent attention on medical weight loss) work by mimicking a natural hormone that regulates appetite and fullness, making a moderate portion genuinely satisfying. They are prescription medications with real considerations, and they aren’t the right tool for everyone.
Which medication (GLP-1 class or otherwise) fits your history, and at what dose, is a clinical decision we make together at your consultation. We discuss specific medications there, one-on-one, rather than in marketing copy.
Pricing
How pricing works for medical weight loss
Program pricing depends on your plan: assessment, medication if indicated, and the check-in schedule that fits your case. You'll get the exact monthly picture at your complimentary consultation, before you commit to anything.
We also offer several ways to spread treatment costs over time, including buy-now-pay-later plans. Ask about financing at your consultation.
Common questions
Medical weight loss FAQs
Do you prescribe GLP-1 medications?
Yes. GLP-1 class medications are among the options we prescribe when the medical assessment supports it, alongside other approaches. Which specific medication fits you is a clinical conversation we have at your consultation.
How fast will I lose weight?
Gradually, on purpose. Sustainable programs typically target steady loss over months rather than dramatic drops over weeks. Fast loss trades away muscle and tends not to hold. We set a realistic trajectory for your body at intake.
Do I need to be a certain weight to qualify?
Candidacy is medical: your history, your health and your goals, not a number we post. The assessment is part of the complimentary consultation, and "this isn’t the right tool for you" is an answer we actually give when it’s true.
What happens at the check-ins?
Weight and progress tracking (including muscle-and-fat-mass readings on our body-composition scale), plus side-effect review, dose adjustments, and course corrections on nutrition. In person or virtual, and they’re where we catch the things a mail-order model misses.
What happens when I reach my goal?
We plan the transition rather than just stopping: tapering or maintenance dosing, and the habits that hold the result. Regain after abrupt stops is a real, documented risk, so the off-ramp is part of the program from the start.
