Jowls & Sagging Skin Treatment in Roswell
The softening along the jawline that slowly blurs where face ends and neck begins, usually the first place gravity's work becomes visible. Here's what's actually moving, and what can genuinely move it back.
What's going on
What causes jowls?
Jowls aren't extra tissue arriving. They're your own tissue relocating. The fat pads of the midface deflate and drift downward with age, the ligaments that anchored them relax, and the migrating volume collects just beside the chin, breaking the jawline's clean sweep. Meanwhile collagen loss lets the skin over it all drape rather than snap back.
That mechanism is why creams disappoint here: a jowl is a position problem, not a surface problem. Treatments that work either lift the descended tissue (threads), rebuild the support that let it fall (filler at the cheeks and pre-jowl), or relax the muscle pulling everything downward (the Nefertiti approach). Most real plans combine two of the three — the mapped combination we cover in full on our non-surgical facelift page.

Jowls & Sagging Skin FAQ
How do I get rid of jowls without surgery?
By matching the tool to the mechanism: threads lift tissue that has descended, filler restores the support structure above and beside it, and neck Botox releases the downward pull. Early jowls often need only one; established jowls usually respond best to a mapped combination, the non-surgical facelift approach.
At what age do jowls start?
The underlying drift starts in the 30s, becomes visible for most people in their 40s and 50s, and genetics sets the schedule more than birthdays do. Earlier treatment is easier treatment: lifting a centimeter beats lifting three.
Do face exercises or "face yoga" help jowls?
The evidence is thin and the mechanism argues against it: jowls come from descended fat and loosened ligaments, which no muscle workout repositions. Building the lower-face muscles can even bulk the area. We'd rather tell you that than let you spend a year on it.
When are jowls a surgery problem?
When there's significant loose skin: skin that folds and drapes rather than just sits lower. Threads and filler reposition and support; they can't remove excess skin. If your assessment points surgical, we'll say so plainly and you'll have saved the cost of treatments that would underdeliver.
How long do non-surgical jowl treatments last?
Threads hold about a year, with collagen benefits persisting past the visible lift. Structural filler holds 9–18 months. Both maintain more easily than they build: the second round is always smaller than the first.
